RIDING FOR THE MOB
Haunted by the memory of losing a childhood friend to a hit-and-run
accident, Ira Tate grows up to loathe the automobile and worship the
bicycle. As a mischievous adolescent, he begins to scratch the surface of
Denver's underworld and, in doing so, he unwittingly advances his skills
on a bicycle to an almost supernatural state. Through a twisting series of
events he is eventually recruited by the city's largest crime boss, Victor
Rice, who recognizes Ira's method of transportation as an ideal way to
avoid surveillance. While working as Vic's personal bike messenger, Ira's
exploits begin to attract attention from police, including that of a local
detective who also happens to be the father of Ira's slain friend.
Violence and rising tensions ultimately reveal some of the connections
between these men—a future collision becomes inevitable … What they don't
know is that the real connections between them lie in the past.
